Here is why: Houses ARE selling quickly. However, I am seeing more fall out in transactions than ever before. Houses are off the market, marked pending, and then available again in a few weeks. This all wastes time, money, effort, and disappoints all parties. The reason to stage now is not to sell quickly, it's to hold the transaction together and keep the emotional ties intact to make through the emotional processes of appraisal and inspections. PLUS you will sell your home at top dollar.
In 2008, during an unprecedented downturn in the market, I started a home staging company in the days when no one had heard of home staging companies. I continued until recently and while I no longer do full stagings, I have partnered with Voila in Philadelphia and Meant to Bee Home, a top notch staging company in Haddonfield NJ.
For each of my listings, my services include light staging which involves us going room to room in your house while we discuss what can be done to turn your home into something similar to a builder's model home. We will work together to turn a home into a marketable product! Some homes need more than others, we'll take the time and make the effort to help your home stand out from others for sale and produce the emotional ties it takes to overcome objections from contract to closing. For vacant homes I'm happy to provide design/furniture placement free of charge and assist with your order from a furniture rental company. This service is included in my listing services at no extra charge.
